Congratulations to the two Braintree teams that competed at the Women of Science Competition at Bedford High School. The teams placed 2nd and 6th place out of 25 teams.

The AP Chemistry test is over and the results will not be released until July. I applaud all of the hard work that went into preparing for this test. I'm confident that the class performed very well. I'd like to say 'thank you' to all the AP Chem students. They helped make my first time teaching the course a great experience.
Level 1 students are encouraged to take the SAT Subject Test in Chemistry. The registration deadline for the June 6th test is May 5th. After school prep sessions will be held in late May and early June and practice tests are available. Go to the College Board website for more information and talk to your guidance councelor.
April vacation is over and everyone is busy up in chemistry at BHS. AP Chem is testing very soon, College Chem will be flying their balloons and Advanced Chem has completely moved to the podcast/masterly learning format for the remainder of the year. Keep up the good work.
Another great launch from the Rocket Team today. 757 ft, 36 seconds would easily be a qualifying score for nationals! Unfortunately, the cargo (egg) was damaged when the rocket picked up a little speed at the end of the flight and landed a little hard. Almost there guys! Edit: Rocket crashed at qualifying :( Better luck next time!
The BHS Rocketry Team had their second successful practice launch today. 606 ft, 36 seconds, much closer the goal of 750 ft, 45 seconds. Keep up the good work and good luck on your upcoming qualification!
The Science Bowl Team was 3-3 at the B.U. Regional Science Bowl Competition on Saturday. They were seeded 9th out of 23 going into the playoffs before losing to North Andover in the first round. Congratulations to the team on a good performance in their first experience in this competition.
